AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the formal statement, "An unusual confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The plot features a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The questline centers on "bizarre trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a striking sequence showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Content
Players who finish the mission will receive an unique katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
